Veteran NBA agent Bernie Lee has formally withdrawn as the representative for Ben Simmons, according to a report by Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
The move adds another layer of uncertainty to the 29-year-old guard’s career as he evaluates his options for the 2025-26 season. Multiple reports have indicated that Simmons is even weighing retirement.
Simmons split last season between the Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Clippers following a midyear buyout. He appeared in 51 games, averaging 5.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists while shooting 52 percent from the field.
Once an All-Star and a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate, Simmons’ value around the league has declined sharply. A league scout told Hoops Wire that interest in the former No. 1 overall pick is limited to “feelers,” adding that organizations may ultimately decide his fate before he does.
Simmons will now navigate free agency or any potential retirement decision without Lee listed on the National Basketball Players Association ledger as his agent.
