Indiana Pacers guard Bennedict Mathurin will miss tonight’s game due to a sprain of his right big toe, according to Scott Agness of Fieldhouse Files.

Head coach Rick Carlisle told reporters that Mathurin is currently wearing a walking boot and is scheduled for imaging on the foot Monday in Dallas, Dustin Dopirak of the Indy Star added.

The second-year guard has taken on a larger offensive role after injuries to Tyrese Haliburton and T.J. McConnell and the offseason departure of Myles Turner. In the Pacers’ first two contests, Mathurin has averaged 31.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 54.8% from the field, 50.0% from three-point range and 88.5% at the free-throw line.

Mathurin joins a lengthy injury list that already includes Haliburton, McConnell, Andrew Nembhard, Johnny Furphy, Kam Jones and Taelon Peter. Carlisle has not offered a timetable for Mathurin’s return.
