Frank Kaminsky Close to Joining Japan’s Alvark Tokyo

Veteran NBA big man Frank Kaminsky is in advanced talks with Alvark Tokyo and is expected to finalize a contract soon, according to BasketNews.com’s Donatas Urbonas.

The 2015 No. 9 overall pick played 413 regular-season games for Charlotte, Phoenix, Atlanta, and Houston. His last NBA action came during a brief stint with the Suns’ 2024 training camp after appearing in the league through the 2022/23 season.

Across eight NBA seasons, the 7-footer averaged 8.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 19.8 minutes, shooting 43.0 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from three, and 74.6 percent at the line. He spent last year with Raptors 905 in the G League, logging 13.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.1 assists over 25 games on 48.6 percent shooting overall and 35.1 percent from deep.

Alvark Tokyo, a perennial playoff club in Japan’s B.League, has started 2025/26 at 10-8 amid multiple injuries and currently sits outside the postseason picture.
