Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle said Saturday that wing Aaron Nesmith will remain out for a minimum of one more week while recovering from a right ankle sprain.

Nesmith logged only 15 minutes in Thursday’s loss to the Washington Wizards before exiting with the injury. He sat out Friday’s rematch against Washington and will miss Sunday’s home game against the Dallas Mavericks, marking his second straight absence. The setback will also keep him off the floor for at least the Pacers’ next two contests.

The Pacers have dealt with a steady stream of injuries throughout the 2025-26 campaign. Forward Obi Toppin has not appeared since October following foot surgery, and second-year swingman Johnny Furphy was ruled out for the season earlier this month with a torn ACL in his right knee. Only three Indiana players—Jay Huff (0 games missed), Jarace Walker (1) and Pascal Siakam (6)—have been sidelined fewer than 10 times. Siakam is scheduled to return Sunday after missing the previous two games.

Nesmith, 26, already missed 19 consecutive games from mid-November to late December because of a left knee sprain. In 33 appearances this season, the 6-5 small forward is averaging 13.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists over 30.0 minutes per game. He was among the nominees for Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors for games played Jan. 26–Feb. 1.
