New York — NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said Monday the league has “no contemplation” of relocating the 2026 All-Star Game from the Los Angeles Clippers’ Intuit Dome, even as officials examine the club for possible salary-cap violations tied to Kawhi Leonard.
The inquiry, opened last month, followed journalist Pablo Torre’s report of a $28 million endorsement agreement between Leonard and Aspiration Fund Adviser LLC, a California sustainability firm that has since entered bankruptcy proceedings.
Clippers owner Steve Ballmer previously injected $50 million into Aspiration, which in 2021 announced a $300 million partnership with the franchise. Potential penalties for cap infractions include fines of up to $7.5 million, contract nullifications and forfeited draft picks.
Despite the ongoing probe, Silver said logistical preparations for the league’s midseason showcase are “completely independent” of the investigation. The game is scheduled for Feb. 15, 2026, will air on NBC, and is expected to introduce a USA vs. World format.
