The Chicago Bulls saw leading scorers Coby White and Josh Giddey leave the game with leg injuries during Monday night’s 136-101 home loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
White, who tops the team at 20.5 points per game, strained his right calf in the opening quarter and did not return. The guard had already missed the first 11 contests of the season with a similar calf issue.
Giddey exited less than a minute into the second half after appearing to injure his left hamstring. Before leaving, the 6-foot-8 guard had 11 points. He entered the matchup averaging 19.5 points, 9.2 assists and 9.1 rebounds and ranks second in the league with seven triple-doubles.
Head coach Billy Donovan told reporters he had no immediate update on either player’s status. Donovan added that forward Zach Collins is expected to sit out several games because of a sprained right big toe.
Monday’s defeat dropped Chicago to 136-101 against a Timberwolves squad that controlled the game throughout.
