The Golden State Warriors have determined their next move with forward Jonathan Kuminga after the 22-year-old declined a four-year, $45 million contract proposal, the New York Post reported on August 4, 2025.
The offer, extended earlier in the offseason, would have kept Kuminga under team control beyond his rookie agreement. According to the report, Kuminga and his representatives opted to reject the package, setting the stage for the organization’s latest decision. Details of the team’s plan were not disclosed.
Kuminga averaged 13.9 points and 4.3 rebounds last season while appearing in 74 games for Golden State. Selected seventh overall in the 2021 NBA Draft, he is entering the final guaranteed year of his rookie contract.
