The Golden State Warriors and forward Jonathan Kuminga have reached a two-year agreement worth $48.5 million, ending a protracted contract standoff that had dragged into the preseason.
The deal, finalized Tuesday, locks Kuminga into the Warriors’ plans through the 2026 campaign and removes a major offseason distraction for the franchise. Financial terms place the average annual value at just over $24 million.
Both sides had been at odds over length and salary before striking the compromise. While the new contract settles those issues, questions remain about Kuminga’s long-term future with the organization and how the move will impact Golden State’s salary-cap outlook.
Additional details of the agreement were not immediately disclosed, and neither the Warriors nor Kuminga’s representatives provided further comment.
