Uncertainty Surrounds Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Future With Bucks

Milwaukee — Internal friction between the Milwaukee Bucks and two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo has reached a point that insiders describe as “insurmountable,” according to a report published Tuesday.

Unnamed team sources quoted in the report said the 6-foot-11 forward “doesn’t want to be here on any given day,” suggesting Antetokounmpo’s commitment to the franchise is wavering as the 2025-26 regular season winds down.

The comments come less than two years after the 31-year-old All-Star signed a super-max extension intended to keep him in Milwaukee through the 2028-29 season. While no formal trade request has been submitted, the tone within the organization has reportedly turned pessimistic about retaining its franchise cornerstone.

The Bucks have not issued a public response. Antetokounmpo, averaging 29.8 points, 11.4 rebounds and 6.2 assists this season, last spoke with reporters following Sunday’s loss, offering no indication of impending changes.
