ATLANTA — The Atlanta Hawks listed point guard Trae Young as questionable for Thursday night’s game against the Charlotte Hornets, signaling that the two-time All-Star could return after missing nearly two months with a right MCL sprain.

Young, 27, practiced without restrictions on Wednesday in Atlanta, his second consecutive day of full activity after scrimmaging Tuesday with the College Park Skyhawks, the club’s G League affiliate. The guard has been sidelined since sustaining the knee injury during an Oct. 29 victory over the Brooklyn Nets.

“It took longer than some injuries, but I feel good now,” Young told reporters, adding that team doctors would not clear him if his conditioning were not up to standard.

The Hawks have gone 15-12 while juggling multiple injuries, including Young’s run of 22 straight missed games. During his absence, he studied how the lineup functioned, saying he plans to bolster what is working and ease pressure where the team has struggled.

Young, last season’s NBA assists leader, is averaging 17.8 points and 7.8 assists in eight appearances this year. If he is cleared, Thursday’s contest at Spectrum Center in Charlotte will mark his first game action since late October.
