Atlanta — December 13, 2025: The Atlanta Hawks announced Friday that All-Star guard Trae Young is projected to return to team practice sessions next week.
Young has been sidelined since spraining the MCL in his right knee during an October 29 matchup against the Brooklyn Nets. The injury forced the NBA’s reigning assists leader to miss the past six weeks.
Before the setback, the 27-year-old was averaging 17.8 points and 7.8 assists per game. According to the club, he has advanced his reconditioning work and may be cleared for game action around Christmas if progress continues.
Atlanta has dropped four of its last five contests without Young in the lineup.
