The Oklahoma City Thunder announced Monday that guard Nikola Topic underwent a testicular procedure and is expected to be reevaluated in approximately four to six weeks.
The reigning NBA champions open the regular season on October 21 against the Houston Rockets. Topic, 20, had been aiming to make his NBA debut after missing all of last season because of a torn ACL.
The 6-foot-6 Serbian point guard, selected 12th overall in the 2024 draft, logged 31 minutes with 10 points and seven assists in Sunday’s preseason win over the Charlotte Hornets.
Oklahoma City is already without rookie center Thomas Sorber, who will miss the entire season following his own ACL tear.
