Ticket costs for the Los Angeles Lakers’ final regular-season home game jumped dramatically after LeBron James published a mysterious social-media message titled “The Second Decision” on Monday.
Before the post appeared, the lowest seat for the April 12, 2026 matchup with the Utah Jazz at Crypto.com Arena was listed at $82, according to marketplace data. Moments later, Vivid Seats showed single-ticket entry prices starting at $580, while the least expensive pair of seats climbed to $760.
The surge followed widespread speculation that the 2025-26 campaign could be James’ last. The 40-year-old forward, however, played down retirement talk during league media sessions last week.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to be able to play the game that I love for another season,” James said. “However the journey lays out this year, I’m super-invested because I don’t know when the end is. I know it’s a lot sooner than later.”
Entering his NBA-record 23rd season and eighth with the Lakers, James acknowledged both the rarity of his longevity and the physical demands that come with it.
“It’s pretty cool to know how many miles I’ve got and still be able to play at a high level,” he noted. “For me, age is kind of just a number, but it is reality, too. You look at the history of the game, there’s not been many guys at my age, especially going into Year 23, that have been able to play at a level like that.”
Los Angeles is scheduled to open the season at home against the Golden State Warriors on Oct. 21.
