DETROIT — Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker will miss Thursday night’s game against the Detroit Pistons because of swelling in his right ankle, the team announced.
The four-time All-Star played through the injury on Tuesday in a loss to the Miami Heat, finishing that game with 24 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. For the season, Booker is averaging 25.2 points and 6.5 assists.
Head coach Jordan Ott said he is hopeful Booker can return Saturday when the Suns visit the New York Knicks.
Ott added that guard Jalen Green has progressed to full 5-on-5 drills as he works back from a hamstring injury that has sidelined him for more than two months. Green scored 29 points in his season debut in November but was limited to two points in his next appearance on Nov. 8 while playing restricted minutes.
