The San Antonio Spurs have reached an agreement with veteran center Mason Plumlee that will keep him on the roster for the rest of the 2025-26 campaign, agent Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports told ESPN’s Shams Charania on Friday.
Plumlee, 36, had just completed a 10-day contract with San Antonio. Although he has yet to log a minute for the Spurs, the deal secures the 13th NBA season of his career.
The 6-foot-11 big man arrived on the open market earlier this month after the Charlotte Hornets sent him to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a three-team trade ahead of the deadline. Oklahoma City subsequently waived him, allowing the Spurs to sign him to the short-term pact that has now been extended.
Before the trade, Plumlee appeared in 14 games for Charlotte, starting two and averaging a shade under nine minutes per contest. He last enjoyed regular rotation time in 2024-25 with the Phoenix Suns, playing 74 games and averaging 4.5 points and 6.1 rebounds.
