SAN FRANCISCO — The Golden State Warriors have reached a three-year, $15 million contract extension with starting forward Gui Santos, sources told ESPN on Saturday morning.
The agreement, which includes a player option for the 2028-29 season, prevents the 23-year-old from entering restricted free agency in July and keeps him under team control for at least two additional seasons.
Santos, drafted 55th overall out of Brazil in 2022, progressed through the Warriors’ development pipeline after beginning his professional career with the Santa Cruz Warriors. He spent the past three seasons on a minimum contract before breaking into the main rotation.
The 6-foot-8 wing moved into the starting lineup two months ago when Jimmy Butler suffered a torn ACL. Since then, Santos has scored in double figures in 11 of the last 12 games and is averaging 31 minutes per contest this month.
Santos will turn 24 in June.
