Sources: Hayes and Bryant to Enter All-Star Slam Dunk Contest

Los Angeles Lakers center Jaxson Hayes and San Antonio Spurs rookie Carter Bryant have accepted invitations to compete in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest at All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, according to sources who spoke with ESPN on Monday.
The 7-foot Hayes attracted attention with a between-the-legs dunk during the Lakers’ victory over the Chicago Bulls earlier this week. Bryant, a 6-foot-6 wing selected 14th overall in last year’s draft, is averaging 2.5 points across 35 games for San Antonio this season.
Three-time defending dunk champion Mac McClung will not participate this year, his father told ESPN.
All-Star Weekend is scheduled for Feb. 13-15 at the Intuit Dome, with the Slam Dunk Contest set for Feb. 14.
