Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season as he prepares for surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, according to sources who spoke with ESPN on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old big man had opened the campaign strongly, averaging 14.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.8 blocks across five games before suffering the injury.
Kessler is set to become a restricted free agent next offseason. The Jazz discussed a rookie-scale extension with him ahead of the October deadline, but negotiations did not yield an agreement.
Veteran center Jusuf Nurkic has moved into Utah’s starting lineup in Kessler’s absence.
