The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to send second-year guard Kobe Bufkin to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for cash considerations, according to sources cited by ESPN on Monday.
Bufkin, selected by Atlanta with the No. 15 pick in the 2023 NBA draft, is owed $5.4 million for the 2025-26 season and carries a $6.9 million team option for 2026-27. By moving the 21-year-old, Atlanta creates a $4.5 million trade exception and gains additional roster flexibility.
Brooklyn will absorb Bufkin into its remaining $11.6 million in cap space. The transaction brings the Nets’ total to 15 guaranteed contracts.
Bufkin appeared in 27 games with the Hawks over two seasons. He also played 14 games in the G League during the 2023-24 campaign, averaging 23.6 points.
