LOS ANGELES — LA Clippers forward Derrick Jones Jr. is slated to return from a sprained right MCL on Sunday against the Detroit Pistons, according to sources who spoke with ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Jones has been sidelined since Nov. 16, when he collided with a Boston Celtics player and was helped off the court clutching his knee. Before the injury, he had started the Clippers’ first 13 games and was averaging a career-best 10.9 points.
The Clippers enter Sunday with a 9-21 record but have won their last three games.
