Chicago Bulls guard Coby White is on track to play his first game of the season Sunday when the Bulls visit the Utah Jazz, according to sources familiar with the situation.
White, 25, has been sidelined while recovering from a calf strain. He averaged a career-best 20.4 points across 74 games last season and has become a steady presence in Chicago’s starting backcourt over the past two years.
The North Carolina product is in the final season of a three-year, $36 million contract and is eligible to enter unrestricted free agency this summer.
Chicago opened the season 6-1 but has since dropped four straight, all against opponents with winning records. Sunday’s contest in Salt Lake City is the second matchup in a stretch that has the Bulls playing eight of 10 games on the road.
