The Chicago Bulls are waiving guard Jaden Ivey after a series of online videos in which he made anti-gay comments and condemned the NBA’s Pride Month celebration, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania on Monday.
Ivey, 24, recently posted several religion-focused rants on social media, including a clip labeling Pride Month as a celebration of “unrighteousness.”
Chicago acquired the former No. 5 overall pick from the Detroit Pistons last month. He appeared in four games for the Bulls before a left knee injury ended his season.
Ivey began his NBA career with Detroit in 2022. Knee problems limited him to 30 contests in the 2024-25 campaign and sidelined him for multiple games this season. He did not agree to a contract extension with the Pistons last summer, positioning him for free agency this offseason.
The South Bend, Indiana, native has previously spoken publicly about struggles with depression.
