Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka said Saturday that wing Tari Eason will miss an estimated four to six weeks after suffering a strained oblique.
Eason, 24, exited Friday’s lopsided victory over the Portland Trail Blazers at halftime. The team initially listed the injury as a hip contusion after he logged 11 minutes and scored three points.
The third-year player has dealt with frequent health issues early in his NBA career, appearing in only 79 games over the previous two seasons combined. He did not reach a contract extension with Houston during the offseason and is set to enter restricted free agency next summer.
Through 11 games this season, Eason is averaging 11.5 points and 5.2 rebounds for the Rockets.
