Amazon’s Prime Video has signed Philadelphia 76ers guard Kyle Lowry to a multiyear agreement as an analyst for its new “NBA on Prime” coverage, the company announced Thursday.

Lowry, 39, will enter his 20th NBA season this fall while taking on broadcast duties. Prime Video said he will make “select appearances” during the 2025-26 campaign and assume “increased responsibilities in the future.”

The streaming service begins its regular NBA schedule Oct. 24 with a doubleheader—Boston at New York followed by Minnesota at the Los Angeles Lakers. The 76ers are idle that night, and Lowry is expected to be part of the telecast.

“I’m excited to start the next chapter of my basketball journey with the Prime Sports team,” Lowry said in a statement. “The talent they’ve assembled is incredible, and together we’ll deliver something fresh and special for basketball fans worldwide.”

Lowry, a six-time All-Star, Olympic gold medalist in 2016 and member of the 2019 NBA champion Toronto Raptors, will become only the 12th player—and the second point guard after Chris Paul—to appear in at least 20 NBA seasons. The former Villanova standout entered the league in 2006.

Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra, who previously worked with Lowry, called him “a throwback,” emphasizing the veteran’s impact on winning beyond traditional statistics.

Amina Hussein, Prime Video’s U.S. head of on-air sports talent, said Lowry’s “authentic personality and deep understanding of today’s game” will give viewers “unique analysis” as the platform launches its NBA package.

Amazon’s entry into NBA broadcasting coincides with the league’s new 11-year, $76 billion media-rights cycle. Prime Video will air 66 regular-season games this season, featuring Thursday night doubleheaders starting in January, Friday night doubleheaders, select Saturday afternoon contests, the entire NBA Cup quarterfinals, semifinals and championship game, all six play-in tournament games, and a portion of the postseason.
