Detroit Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff has been appointed to lead one of the squads in the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, the league announced Sunday night.

The selection was secured after Detroit locked up the Eastern Conference’s best record through Feb. 1, a milestone confirmed when the Boston Celtics fell to the Chicago Bulls. At 32-11, the Pistons trail only the Oklahoma City Thunder for the NBA’s top mark.

The upcoming appearance will be Bickerstaff’s first as an All-Star coach and comes in just his second season with Detroit. Last year, he finished second in Coach of the Year voting after guiding the Pistons to the playoffs a season removed from a 14-win campaign.

This season’s All-Star event will feature three teams: two comprised of American players and one of international players. The trio will compete in four 12-minute games, with the two best records advancing to a final championship matchup. Bickerstaff will oversee one of the three teams, according to the league.
