All-Star forward Paul George publicly acknowledged a 25-game suspension for violating the NBA’s performance-enhancing drug policy, saying he has no one to blame but himself.
“I’m no superhero,” George said on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. “I made a mistake and I have to live with the consequences.”
The league handed down the penalty after a positive test for a banned substance. George said he will not appeal and plans to use the time away to reflect and prepare for his return.
The 25-game ban will begin immediately, sidelining him for roughly the first third of the regular season. George expressed remorse to teammates, coaches and fans, emphasizing that he intends to regain their trust through his actions once eligible to play again.
