LOS ANGELES — Chris Paul says he feels “at peace with everything” after the Los Angeles Clippers released the veteran point guard earlier this month, ending his second stint with the organization.

The 40-year-old All-Star was waived following a three-hour, late-night discussion with president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank. According to People.com, team officials believed Paul’s leadership style conflicted with head coach Ty Lue and had become disruptive in the locker room.

“Stuff’s been a little crazy in the past few days — to say the least,” Paul told People in an interview published Tuesday. “But honestly, I’m home. My daughter had tryouts yesterday. My nephew had a basketball game. My son has a game coming up on the 12th.”

Because Paul re-signed with the Clippers on a one-year deal in late July, league rules prohibit him from being traded until Dec. 15 at the earliest. The guard, who has said he will retire after this season, added that he is eager for whatever comes next. “I’m actually at peace with everything,” he said. “More than anything, I’m excited about being around and getting a chance to play a small role in whatever anything looks like next.”

Paul averaged a career-low 2.9 points and 3.3 assists in 16 games for the Clippers this season.
