INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle said Saturday that forward Aaron Nesmith will be out a minimum of four weeks after injuring his left knee in Thursday’s road loss to the Phoenix Suns.

“It’s likely going to be at least four weeks,” Carlisle told reporters before Saturday night’s game against the Toronto Raptors. Carlisle added that Nesmith is walking without a brace and described the medical update as “very, very good,” noting that the timetable could change.

The 25-year-old is averaging a career-high 15.5 points and 4.5 rebounds through 11 games and set a personal best with 31 points during a Nov. 1 victory over Golden State. Indiana entered Saturday with a 1-11 record.

Pacers’ injury list grows

Nesmith joins a lengthy injury report:

  • Tyrese Haliburton is out for the season after tearing his Achilles tendon in Game 7 of last season’s NBA Finals.
  • Bennedict Mathurin scored 31 points across two games before a toe injury sidelined him.
  • Andrew Nembhard just returned from a six-game absence due to a shoulder issue.
  • Top reserve Obi Toppin averaged 14 points over three games before a stress fracture in his right foot.

Carlisle said he hopes to have a clearer update on Nesmith by Dec. 15.
