The Oklahoma City Thunder held off the Sacramento Kings 107-101 on Tuesday night despite the absence of rookie center Chet Holmgren, who was sidelined by back tightness.
Holmgren, 23, had delivered 18 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks in 32 minutes during Monday’s 101-94 win over the Dallas Mavericks but sat out the second game of the back-to-back. The night off marked his first missed contest of the young season.
Oklahoma City also remained without forward Jalen Williams, who has not played while recovering from offseason wrist surgery, and guard Isaiah Joe, unavailable because of a knee injury. Guard Alex Caruso returned from concussion protocol and contributed eight points in 24 minutes.
Through four games, Holmgren is averaging 23.0 points and 10.3 rebounds for the 4-0 Thunder.
