The Denver Nuggets said Thursday that forward Aaron Gordon will undergo another medical evaluation in four to six weeks after straining his right hamstring.
Gordon aggravated a previous hamstring injury during the second half of Friday’s 102-100 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. That earlier injury, suffered in late November, sidelined him for more than a month.
Head coach David Adelman told reporters after the game that Gordon believed the latest setback was less severe than the initial strain, but the team ordered additional tests to determine the exact extent of the damage.
The loss of the 30-year-old forward adds to Denver’s mounting injury concerns. Several Nuggets, including two-time MVP Nikola Jokić, have missed games this season because of various ailments.
Through 23 appearances, Gordon is averaging a career-high 17.7 points.
