The Brooklyn Nets have ruled Egor Demin out for the remainder of the 2025-26 season, a decision a consulting foot specialist described as “the right time” to protect the player’s long-term health.

The move, confirmed Wednesday, March 11, follows unspecified foot issues that had limited the 22-year-old in recent weeks. According to the specialist, extending Demin’s recovery window until the offseason minimizes the risk of aggravating the injury and provides a clearer path to full rehabilitation.

Demin, acquired by Brooklyn in the 2025 draft, averaged 6.8 points and 3.1 assists over 41 games before the shutdown. The Nets did not announce a surgical plan, indicating that rest and therapy remain the primary course of action.

Brooklyn enters the final month of the regular season fighting for a play-in berth. Head coach Jacque Vaughn said the club supports the medical recommendation and will adjust the rotation accordingly.
