The NBA on Wednesday levied $35,000 fines against Atlanta Hawks forward Mouhamed Gueye and Minnesota Timberwolves center Naz Reid for their involvement in a jersey-grabbing altercation earlier in the week.
The incident occurred with 11:52 remaining in the fourth quarter of Monday’s game. Gueye shoved Reid from behind, drawing a personal foul. Reid then confronted Gueye, and the two players seized each other’s jerseys before officials, coaches and teammates intervened. Both were assessed technical fouls and immediately ejected.
The league announced the penalties from its New York office, citing their roles in escalating the confrontation.
