Orlando forward Moe Wagner is expected to suit up for the Magic this week, 13 months after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, the team announced Friday.
The German big man sustained the injury in December 2024, underwent surgery shortly afterward and has been sidelined since. Wagner completed the final stages of his rehabilitation earlier this month and received medical clearance to return to game action.
The Magic did not specify whether Wagner will start or come off the bench, but head coach Jamahl Mosley said the 6-foot-11 veteran will have “no restrictions” when he steps back on the court. Wagner’s return bolsters an Orlando frontcourt already featuring his younger brother Franz Wagner, Wendell Carter Jr. and Paolo Banchero.
Before the injury, Wagner averaged 10.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in 57 games during the 2023-24 campaign, providing energy and outside shooting in 17.8 minutes per contest. He is entering the final season of a two-year contract signed in July 2024.
Orlando opens a three-game homestand on Saturday against the Atlanta Hawks, giving Wagner his first opportunity to play in front of the Amway Center crowd since the injury.
