NEW YORK — Dec. 30, 2025 — Forward Michael Porter Jr. is delivering a breakout season for the Brooklyn Nets, yet early indications suggest the surge might not be enough to earn him an NBA All-Star berth.
Porter Jr. has become one of Brooklyn’s most dependable scoring options and an everyday presence in the starting lineup. Even so, with only a handful of front-court spots available through fan voting, media input and coaches’ selections, the 27-year-old faces stiff competition from higher-profile Eastern Conference players.
League observers noted Tuesday that Porter Jr.’s impressive numbers and Brooklyn’s improved record may still fall short of the visibility required for a first-time All-Star selection. Official rosters will be announced next month.
