The New York Knicks lifted the NBA Cup on Tuesday night in Las Vegas, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 124–113 to claim the franchise’s first in-season tournament crown—and its first trophy of any kind since the 1973 NBA Finals.
Center Karl-Anthony Towns marked the moment by hopping on FaceTime with celebrity Knicks loyalists Timothée Chalamet and Ben Stiller. Screenshots shared to Towns’ Instagram story showed him holding his medal, a championship hat and the gleaming NBA Cup alongside his girlfriend, Jordyn Woods. “Marty Supreme Approved,” he wrote, nodding to Chalamet’s upcoming film “Marty Supreme,” scheduled for a Christmas Day release.
Chalamet and Stiller, frequent faces at Madison Square Garden during the Knicks’ 2025 playoff run, join Spike Lee and Tracy Morgan on the team’s short list of high-profile superfans.
On the court, Towns—averaging 22.4 points and 11.9 rebounds this season—chipped in 16 points and 11 boards. OG Anunoby led New York with 28 points while shooting 50% from three-point range, and Jalen Brunson added 25 points and eight assists. The Knicks erased a five-point deficit by outscoring San Antonio 35-19 in the fourth quarter to seal the championship.
