Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs has been medically cleared to play in the team’s regular-season opener against the Miami Heat on Wednesday, coach Jamahl Mosley said Tuesday.

Suggs, the Magic’s starting point guard, underwent arthroscopic surgery in March to remove a cartilage fragment from his left knee. The 24-year-old was limited to 35 games last season.

After taking part in the morning shootaround, Suggs told team staff he felt no discomfort. Mosley described the guard’s return as a major lift, noting Suggs’ energy and perseverance throughout rehabilitation.

Last season Suggs averaged 16.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals. Mosley added that the coaching staff will monitor Suggs’ minutes early in the schedule but emphasized the importance of his playmaking and defensive intensity.

The matchup with Miami at Kia Center will be Orlando’s first game of the 2025-26 campaign.
