The NBA announced Friday that Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic has been named Western Conference Player of the Month.

The award recognizes the league’s top performer in the West for games played during the previous month. Doncic’s latest honor comes in the midst of his first full season with the Lakers, who acquired the four-time All-Star in a blockbuster trade last summer.

This is the ninth time in Doncic’s career that he has secured a monthly award from the league, and his first since joining Los Angeles. The 27-year-old continues to rank among the NBA’s leaders in scoring, assists and rebounds while guiding the Lakers into the heart of the Western Conference playoff race.

The NBA is expected to release detailed voting totals and Eastern Conference honors later in the day.
