LOS ANGELES — Luka Doncic announced Saturday morning that he and fiancée Anamaria Goltes have welcomed their second child, a daughter named Olivia.
The 26-year-old guard has missed the Los Angeles Lakers’ past two games while attending the birth in his hometown of Ljubljana, Slovenia, according to team sources. Doncic and Goltes are also parents to 2-year-old Gabriela.
Los Angeles split the two contests played without its leading scorer, going 1-1. Head coach JJ Redick said Friday, ahead of the Lakers’ 126-105 defeat to the Boston Celtics, that Doncic could rejoin the club as early as Sunday in Philadelphia, where the Lakers face the 76ers.
The team has Saturday off following consecutive road games in Toronto and Boston on Thursday and Friday.
Doncic tops the NBA with a career-best 35.3 points per game and ranks fourth in assists (8.9), 19th in rebounds (8.9) and 11th in steals (1.6). The Lakers are 16-6, holding third place in the Western Conference.
