Dallas Mavericks star guard Luka Dončić said there are clear organizational differences between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Mavericks, according to an interview published on Feb. 16, 2026.
Dončić, who has spent his entire NBA career in Dallas, told the New York Post that the two franchises operate in noticeably different ways but did not provide detailed examples. He characterized the contrasts as “main differences” that become apparent when players experience both environments, either through games, joint events or off-court interactions.
The brief comments offered a rare public glimpse into how one of the league’s top players views the inner workings of two high-profile teams, one rooted in Hollywood’s spotlight and the other in North Texas.
