Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James became the NBA’s all-time leader in regular-season games played on March 21, 2026, moving past Hall of Famer Robert Parish.
James set the mark when he took the court for the Lakers’ matchup Saturday night, officially logging more appearances than Parish, whose record had stood since 1994. The milestone adds another highlight to the 41-year-old superstar’s two-decade career, which already includes the league’s scoring crown.
Drafted first overall in 2003, James has played for the Cavaliers, Heat and now the Lakers, collecting four championships, four MVP awards and numerous All-NBA selections along the way. His latest achievement underscores his durability and longevity in a sport where few players approach two thousand combined regular-season and postseason contests.
The crowd at Crypto.com Arena gave James a standing ovation as the accomplishment was announced in the first quarter. Teammates and coaches joined in the applause, while a brief video tribute highlighted moments from his 23 NBA seasons.
Parish, who spent most of his 21-year career with the Boston Celtics, previously held the record. James tied the mark earlier this week and surpassed it with his appearance on Saturday.
The NBA plans to honor James formally at a future game, the league said.
