The Los Angeles Lakers have alerted season-ticket holders that prices will rise sharply for the 2026-27 campaign, the first major revenue move since billionaire Mark Walter acquired the franchise at a $10 billion valuation.

Renewal notices distributed this week outline double-digit percentage hikes. Social media personality Rob Perez, who sits in a mid-level section, posted that his seats will climb 14 percent and that a 3 percent administrative surcharge will be added unless the full balance is paid immediately.

Another longtime customer in the 300 level shared paperwork with ESPN showing an even larger jump: the cost of his pair of seats will soar from $6,192 this season to $9,035 next season after costing $5,494 in 2024-25. The 45.9 percent spike dwarfs the 12.7 percent increase in the previous renewal cycle.

In a statement to ESPN, the club confirmed the adjustments. “We are adjusting season ticket pricing for next season,” the team said. “The updates reflect the current market landscape and demand.”

Through 26 home games in 2025-26, the Lakers average 18,877 fans at Crypto.com Arena, which lists basketball capacity at 18,910—a 99.8 percent occupancy rate.

Walter’s other major Los Angeles property, the Dodgers, drew a franchise-record 4,012,470 spectators last year and won their second consecutive World Series.

The ticket news arrived shortly after longtime Lakers president of business operations Tim Harris announced he will depart after this season. Lon Rosen, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of the Dodgers for more than a decade, has been chosen to succeed him.

In an email obtained by ESPN, Harris framed the price hikes with references to stars Luka Doncic, LeBron James and Austin Reaves, while praising coach JJ Redick’s leadership: “The Lakers are iconic. Expectations are always high… Luka’s shaping the present and future of the game… LeBron continues to define longevity… Austin’s star power has no ceiling… With a roster led by JJ Redick’s elite basketball mind, the Lakers make every game a show.”
