The NBA has issued a $50,000 fine to Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic for what the league described as an “inappropriate” gesture directed at a game official.

The disciplinary action was announced on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. In its brief statement, the league said the gesture was made during a recent Lakers game but did not specify the exact contest or minute of play in which the incident occurred.

Under league rules, fines for on-court conduct can reach $50,000 without requiring approval from the NBA Players Association, making Doncic’s penalty the maximum allowable for a single incident of this nature. The league did not announce any further punishment, such as a suspension.

The Lakers have not yet commented publicly on the ruling, and it was not immediately clear whether Doncic intends to appeal.
