Lakers Fail to Capitalize on Season-Long Homestand

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Lakers ended their longest homestand of the 2025-26 campaign on Feb. 25 without gaining ground in the tightly packed Western Conference race.

The extended stretch at Crypto.com Arena was billed as an opportunity to climb the standings, but the plan fell apart as the club dropped more games than it won. Instead of moving up, the Lakers left the eight-game stay right where they started — on the outside looking in at the upper tier of the West.

The inability to convert home-court advantage into victories now leaves Los Angeles facing a tougher climb during the season’s final weeks, when the bulk of its remaining schedule will be on the road.

Head coach Darvin Ham acknowledged the missed chance, noting that the team “has no choice but to regroup quickly” before the next trip.

The Lakers return to action later this week, opening a multi-city road swing that includes stops in Dallas and Denver.
