Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving will sit out the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign as he continues to rehabilitate the left knee he had surgically repaired last March, his agent told ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Irving, 33, underwent surgery last spring to fix a torn ACL and has not appeared in a game this season. Agent Shetellia Riley Irving said the nine-time All-Star is targeting a full comeback for the 2026-27 season. “This is about Kyrie being 1,000% when he comes back and giving himself the best chance to chase a championship next season,” she told Charania.
The veteran guard also missed the final 20 contests of last season after suffering the knee injury. Since joining Dallas midway through the 2022-23 season, the Mavericks are 75-53 when he plays and 42-75 when he does not.
Dallas enters the post-All-Star break at 19-35, fourth in the Southwest Division. Earlier in February, the franchise signaled a shift toward rebuilding by trading Anthony Davis to the Washington Wizards in a nine-player deal.
