Free-agent guard Malcolm Brogdon has agreed to a one-year deal with the New York Knicks, agent Sam Permut of Roc Nation told ESPN on Friday morning.
The 32-year-old enters his 10th NBA season and is expected to slot into Mike Brown’s rotation, giving the Knicks additional ball-handling and scoring off the bench. He joins fellow guard Landry Shamet, who also signed a one-year contract earlier in the offseason.
Last season with the Washington Wizards, Brogdon appeared in a career-low 24 games and averaged 12.7 points, 4.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds. He shot 29% from three-point range in that abbreviated campaign, but connected on 43% of his attempts from beyond the arc across the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons—fourth-best in the league among players with at least 300 attempts during that span.
Brogdon won Rookie of the Year in 2016-17 and Sixth Man of the Year in 2022-23, joining Mike Miller as the only players to collect both honors. Over the past three seasons, he has suited up for the Wizards, Portland Trail Blazers and Boston Celtics after spending his first six years with the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers.
