The New York Knicks endured a lopsided defeat to the Sacramento Kings on Jan. 15, 2026, and their night became even worse when guard Jalen Brunson exited with an ankle injury.
Brunson went down in the first half and was helped to the locker room. The Knicks quickly ruled him out for the remainder of the game.
Already facing a sizable deficit, New York never recovered after losing its floor leader. Sacramento, which entered the night with one of the league’s poorest records, maintained control the rest of the way and handed the Knicks a decisive loss.
New York did not provide details on the severity of Brunson’s injury immediately after the game.
