Knicks move Miles McBride closer to return by upgrading injury status

NEW YORK — Guard Miles McBride appears on the verge of rejoining the New York Knicks after the club upgraded his listing on the NBA’s official injury report on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

The team did not disclose additional details about McBride’s condition, but the change in status signals progress for the 24-year-old, who has been sidelined with an injury suffered earlier in the season. An upgraded designation typically means a player can participate in practice activities and is being evaluated on a day-to-day basis.

McBride, selected by the Knicks in the second round of the 2021 NBA Draft, has averaged 6.4 points and 2.1 assists in 16.3 minutes per game this season. His defensive pressure and three-point shooting off the bench have been valued assets for head coach Tom Thibodeau.

The Knicks will continue to monitor McBride through shootaround and pre-game warm-ups before determining his availability for the club’s next contest. No official timetable for his return to game action has been released.
