ORLANDO — New York Knicks guard Landry Shamet was ruled out for the rest of Saturday’s matchup with the Orlando Magic after injuring his right shoulder early in the first quarter.

The incident occurred with 9:17 remaining in the period. Shamet was defending Jalen Suggs near midcourt when he collided with a screen set by Wendell Carter Jr. The guard immediately clutched his right arm and headed to the locker room, his arm hanging at his side.

This is the same shoulder Shamet dislocated during the 2024 preseason last October. The Knicks announced his status as out early in the second quarter.

Before Saturday’s injury, Shamet was enjoying his strongest five-game stretch of the season, scoring in double figures in four straight contests. That run featured a career-high 36 points in a 140-132 victory over the Miami Heat. He followed with nine points in 23 minutes in Wednesday’s win against the Dallas Mavericks, where he also sank two late three-pointers and drew a crucial charge in the final second.

The Knicks added that guard Miles McBride entered the night listed as questionable because of illness.
