Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd and forward Naji Marshall were both ejected during Friday night’s 138-127 home loss to the Orlando Magic, a game that extended Dallas’ home losing streak to 14, its longest since the 1993-94 season.

The incidents unfolded early in the fourth quarter at American Airlines Center with the Mavericks trailing by more than 20 points. Kidd received a single technical foul from referee Sean Corbin after objecting to a no-call on top overall draft pick Cooper Flagg. Although only one technical was assessed, Kidd was sent off and had to be held back by assistant coach Frank Vogel while exchanging words with referee Eric Lewis, who was heard responding with an expletive.

Moments later, Marshall — seated on the bench — was whistled for his second technical foul by Lewis and was ejected as well. His first technical had come just before halftime, leading to a free throw that Desmond Bane knocked down to open the third quarter. Marshall’s second infraction was called as Bane converted a layup.

Orlando maintained control throughout, handing Dallas its 14th straight loss at home and leaving the Mavericks searching for their first victory in Dallas since early February.
