LOS ANGELES — “Shark Tank” investor Kevin O’Leary arrived at the 98th Academy Awards on Sunday wearing a one-of-a-kind NBA collectible around his neck: a 2004 Upper Deck Exquisite All NBA Access Pass Triple Logoman card featuring game-used logo patches from Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.

The 1-of-1, PSA 10-graded card was sealed inside a custom Tiffany & Co. case crafted from 2.2 pounds of white gold and accented with diamonds and rubies. The case hung from a matching chain, turning the seven-figure memorabilia piece into a red-carpet accessory.

O’Leary complemented the jewelry with a custom Dolce & Gabbana jacket that, according to the businessman, required seven months and multiple artisans to complete.

Privately Acquired Centerpiece

The Jordan/James/Bryant Triple Logoman has never appeared at public auction. O’Leary’s business partner Matt Allen secured the card in 2019 through a private deal facilitated by Goldin Auctions founder Ken Goldin.

Not His First Card Couture

The Oscars outing marked O’Leary’s second recent appearance wearing an ultra-rare sports card. At the Actor Awards earlier this month, he displayed a 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman Autographs card signed by Jordan and Bryant. Encased by Tiffany & Co. with 101.32 carats of diamonds, 10 carats of rubies and white gold, that card cost O’Leary, Allen and entrepreneur Paul Warshaw a record $12.9 million at Heritage Auctions last August.

On the Carpet for “Marty Supreme”

O’Leary attended Sunday’s ceremony as part of the cast of “Marty Supreme,” in which he portrays wealthy businessman Milton Rockwell opposite Gwyneth Paltrow. The film earned nine nominations, including best picture and best director.

The investor’s latest merger of high-end fashion and high-value collectibles ensured that his walk down Hollywood’s biggest red carpet was impossible to miss.
